I have worked in financial services since 1994.
Leaving school at aged 16, I began my career at Midland Bank and since then I have worked for numerous high street banks and lenders - often being head hunted into managerial posts. In addition to lenders, I have also worked for various master brokerages, specialising in mortgage packaging and secured loan lending.
I am delighted to be a Director of Yorkshire Financial Services Ltd and feel proud of all we have achieved as a company. We built the original company on confidence, back in 2006 and have grown from strength to strength on trust. Our reputation is second to none and treating our customers fairly is what we do.
There is a saying in forensic science called ‘Lockhart's Theory’ where the basic principle is that “every contact leaves a trace”….. I believe that everything we do for our clients has a huge impact on their lives and leaves a footprint. After all, we help make things just that little bit better, which is why our clients refer their family and friends to us.
The feeling I get when I read the heartfelt and sincere feedback and comments from our satisfied clients is the best feeling in the world – making the long and stressful hours all worth while. Now how many other people can say that about their jobs!?
I began my career in the financial services industry in 2003 where I studied, trained and worked as a Paraplanner for a busy Financial Adviser firm in Huddersfield. It was whilst working there I qualified as a Mortgage Adviser and successfully attained my CeMAP qualification.
I have worked as a Mortgage and Protection Adviser now since 2007, offering mortgage and protection advice to clients all across Yorkshire.
I feel extremely proud to be part of a team that has grown year on year, from strength to strength and whose reputation is everything!
I love working within a family run business, where we often help our clients move in to that “dream home” and protect our clients should the worst happen with the protection options that we have to offer.
In my spare time, I enjoy socialising with friends, travelling and playing football. I am a Huddersfield Town Season Ticket holder and coach the local kids football team in my home village.
Before beginning my career in the Financial Services Industry in 2006, I worked for two of the largest and busiest Solicitors in Doncaster. It was during this time I gained lots of experience and a great deal of knowledge in the area of Conveyancing.
Having joined the original company, Total Finance Options on day one I have been swiftly promoted from Office Junior to Mortgage Administrator, then Client Account Manager to Practice Manager, where my responsibilities included overseeing the day to day accounting procedures, managing the administration staff, processing mortgage and protection applications and policies, to liaising with lenders, providers, surveyors and solicitors, overseeing all applications and enquiries from the initial adviser meeting, through to completion (and beyond).
As a Director and adviser of Yorkshire Financial Services I now split my time between managing the busy processing office and advising my clients - offering impartial mortgage and protection advice. I take great pride in guiding my clients from their initial enquiry of finding out how much they can borrow to managing their application from offer acceptance to the day they get their keys.
I am extremely proud of what we have achieved in building Yorkshire Financial Services. We have built a team that offers excellent and exceptional levels of client care. To receive thank you letters, phone calls and client feedback letters from all our happy and satisfied clients gives me a great sense of achievement. I am so proud to be part of a successful and reputable company, that was built on confidence and has grown on trust.
I have worked in Financial Services since 2012.
After leaving school in 2011, I started as an apprentice for Barclays Bank Plc. Within this time I gained knowledge in all areas of the Financial Services Industry and also gained my banking qualifications. In 2013 I was nominated for apprentice of the year, across the whole bank. This was an achievement of which I am extremely proud of.
During my 8 years at Barclays, I was involved in a number of different roles that included mortgage case administration, implementing changes to mortgage processing, completing mortgage redemptions and processing rate switches. In all my roles I dealt with clients, solicitors and the HM Land Registry when clients came to the end of their mortgage.
Here at Yorkshire Financial Services, I feel extremely proud to be part of a great team and a company who puts their clients first and continues to strive for success.
I find my role extremely rewarding, particularly helping clients move into their dream home. It’s a real drive for me to give our clients the best service possible.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family and friends, watching cricket and rugby league and also have a passion for music and recently began DJing as a hobby.
I have worked in Financial Services, in particular the Mortgage and Insurance sector, since 2009 and I can honestly say I’ve loved every minute of it!
One of the highlights of my career was back in 2022, when I won the ‘Mortgage Administrator of the Year’ award at the National Mortgage Strategy Awards – something which I am extremely proud of.
Throughout my career, all my roles have been customer service based positions and this is where I feel most “at home”. I thrive on providing excellent customer care and establishing and maintaining business relationships. I take pride in my work and thrive on always going that extra mile. In fact, treating customers fairly and providing exceptional customer service is what I stand for and I’m driven by always going above and beyond
I can honestly say that from the first moment I met Mark, Holly and the rest of the team (especially George), I fully understood why Yorkshire Financial Services was such a successful company.
There is a family ethos and feel that runs through the very core of the company and this was evident since me joining as Client Account Manager.
Outside of work, I enjoy walking my cocker spaniel, Peggy and spending time with my family.
I have worked within the Estate Agency and Financial Services industry since 2017.
During my time working in and around the Doncaster area, I have gained a great deal of experience and local industry knowledge. My role has always been customer facing and I pride myself on being totally customer focused.
I always like to ensure that a client’s full needs and expectations are not only met – but exceeded, ensuring they have the best possible journey along the way.
I am a firm believer that we should all treat people the way in which we would like to be treated ourselves and I always aim for this to come across in all my dealings with our clients – from the initial meeting to the ongoing support and advice we offer.
Although I have only recently joined the team here at Yorkshire Financial Services, I am enjoying being part of the team and feel well placed to build good working relationships and deliver the best service I can for our clients.
Outside of work and in my spare time, I love nothing more than spending quality time with my family as well as watching and playing a wide range of sports, including football and rugby league and everything in between.
I joined the team in July 2020, having relocated from my parents in Surrey.
I am responsible for meeting and greeting all clients and guests who visit the office. I take full pride in my work and welcome all our visitors with an open paw and where required, a heartfelt cuddle.
After successfully passing my 3 months’ probation period - with a few minor “accidents” along the way, I was promoted to head of data destruction. This involves chewing and permanently destroying (but in a totally secure way) all confidential waste.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with family, chasing waves on Filey beach and digging holes in my mums back garden.
